A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend, Helen touched countless lives through her warmth, generosity, and unwavering devotion to others.
Born in 1939 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to Norman and Helen Berner, Helen dedicated her life to nurturing others, especially children and the elderly. Her servant's heart led her to decades of meaningful work, including preschool and Sunday School teaching at Church at Charlotte, card and meal ministry with Hope Cancer Ministry, and preparing and delivering meals for Meals on Wheels.
Helen’s life was guided by her strong Christian faith, and her favorite Bible verse, 1 Corinthians 13:4-8, beautifully reflected the love and grace she shared so freely with the world.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 63 years, Richard; her two sons, Dale and David (wife Jennifer); and her cherished grandchildren, Courtney, Connor, and Andrew. She was preceded in death by her brother, Jack Berner.
A Celebration of Life service will be scheduled in the coming weeks to honor and remember Helen’s extraordinary life.
Online condolences may be shared at www.McEwenPinevilleChapel.com.
Helen will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and service will live on in all who were blessed to know her.
