Henry Marvin Connolly

He resided in Charlotte since 2010. Prior to Charlotte, he resided in Greensboro, NC and Greenville, SC.

Born August 2, 1926 in Hendersonville, NC, he was the son of the late Dr. M. A. Connolly and Louise Johnson Connolly. He grew up in Woodruff, SC where he graduated from Woodruff High School. He graduated from Clemson University in 1950.

He was a proud veteran of the United States Navy.

Marvin spent the majority of his professional life with Burlington Industries in various roles in sales and management. He retired in 1989.

The most important thing in his life was his family. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather. He is survived by his wife of 73 years, Lauris Henderson Connolly; three children: William Connolly (Joyce), Susan C. Yeargan, and Henry Connolly (Jule); five grandchildren: Tara, Marc, Shannon, Jennifer and Laura; one great grandchild: Julia Ann.

Marvin enjoyed hunting, fishing, horseback riding, traveling and real estate investing.

A graveside service to celebrate Marvin's life will be held on July 12, 2021 at 1 pm at Westminster Garden Cemetery, 3601 Whitehurst Rd., Greensboro, NC. Friends are invited to attend.
