

Henry Paul Cybulski age 82 passed away on Saturday August 13th, 2016 at Harris Hospice at Novant Hospital in Charlotte, NC. Henry was born in Sunderland, Massachusetts on Sept 14th, 1933. He grew up in East Hampton, MA and he graduated from East Hampton High School in 1951. Upon graduation he enlisted in the US Navy and was honorably discarded in 1959. During that time her served on the USS Shenandoah AD-26, USS Eaton DDE-510, and the USS Bache DDE-470.Henry was wed to Peggy Fitzgerald on May 23rd, 1959 at Annunciation Church in Florence, MA where they resided until 1971. During that time they began their family of three children, Mary Katherine 1960, Henry James 1963. and Christopher 1967. Henry began an early career in computer sciences at the Springfield Institution for Savings and then Savage Arms in Westfield, MA. He then went to work for Amherst College and ultimately Smith College in Northampton where as a Programmer/Analyst and Trustee appointed by President of the college he participated in the Five College Cooperation (Amherst, Smith, Mt. Holyoke, Hampshire, U-Mass) for development and use of shared computer assisted information systems. After completing that work in the education sector he began work for the United Elastics Division of JP Stephe ns in the development of computer systems to enhance and regulate manufacturing processes. While continuing to work for JP Stephens Henry and his family moved to Martinsville, VA in 1971 and then to Charlotte, NC in 1976 where he continued to work for JP Stevens through1982. His career as systems analyst and development manager continued until retirement in 2000 from Coats and Clark/American Thread. Henry, from a young age, loved outdoor activities. As a young man he participated in mountain climbing on peaks all over New England including Mt. Washington. He also enjoyed camping, sailing, and hiking with his family. Henry spent time listening to and performing music and taught himself how to play the accordion, the banjo and at the age of 50 began to study classical violin and became accomplished enough to perform in the Charlotte Community Orchestra. In retirement he enjoyed spending time with his wife, Peggy, and their children's families. Henry and Peggy also traveled and attended numerous US Navy reunions for the USS Bache. He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry Cybulski Sr (1961) and Stella Cybulski-Lehan of Amhert, MA (1989).He is survived by sister Patty Marquis of California; his wife, Peggy (Fitzgerald) Cybulski; his daughter, Mary Thomas Spouse Al Thomas and their children Katie and Kristen, his Son Henry James Cybulski and spouse Gwen Cybulski and their children Kory, Kaley, and Jamie (spouse Kaylee) and their children (great grands Paislee and Max), His Son Chris Cybulski and his children Stella Franklin and their mother (Michele Cybulski).A Funeral Mass is planned for Wednesday, August 17, 2016 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 3016 Providence Rd, Charlotte, NC 28211. Burial will follow in Sharon Memorial Park. A reception will be held at the church for family and friends following the graveside service.
