

Born on March 26, 1956 in Kingstree, SC, Hal was the son of Henry Ervin Lewis, Sr. and Frances Wellman. Following graduation from Johnsonville High School, he furthered his education at Columbia Bible College, receiving an associate’s degree in Theology. He continued his education at the University of South Carolina, receiving a BS in Biology. He enjoyed a long career in pharmaceutical sales and management.
The joy of his life was his family. He adored his son, Adam, and was so proud of the man he has become. They attended church at Elevation Church in Charlotte for many years. An avid tennis player, Hal spent many hours on the tennis court with friends at Olde Providence Racquet Club.
He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Lewis, and son Adam Lewis of Matthews; his father Henry Ervin Lewis, Sr. of Florence, SC and his mother Frances Wellman of Pawley’s Island, SC; a brother Steve Lewis (Jill) of Lancaster, SC; and two sisters, Pam Burnett (Reg) of Pawley’s Island, SC and Cindi Sutton (David) of Charleston, SC.
The family will receive friends on Friday, April 29, from 6-8 p.m. at Harry and Bryant's Chapel in the Oaks, 500 Providence Rd. in Charlotte, NC. A service to celebrate Hal’s life will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 30, in Harry and Bryant’s Chapel, followed by a private burial service for the family.
