Henry Franklin Medlin

Born on October 19, 1936, Henry was the son of Jarman David and Violet Wofford Medlin. He was the oldest of 6 children and 2 half brothers.

Henry is survived by his wife, Maggie; children, Derrick Medlin (Kim), Tyler Medlin, Brianne Medlin and Anthony Medlin; 4 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; siblings, Clara Imboden, Charles Medlin (Kay), Sheila Correll (Bubba), Frances Hall, Helen Avant (Wendell), Gary Medlin (Anne) and Richard Medlin (Sherri); as well as numerous nieces and nephews.

Henry was a graduate of Central High School in Charlotte, NC. He proudly served in the US Air Force. He was a retired Air Traffic Controller, who received a presidential commendation for executing 3 emergency air landings safely. Later in life he drove the Red Cross blood transport throughout North Carolina.

Above all, Henry was a loving husband, father and brother. Henry was a great patriarch of our family. We will miss his presence greatly.

A graveside service for Henry will be held 1:00 PM Saturday, November 8, 2025 at Forest Lawn West Cemetery, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC. Condolences may be submitted at www.forestlawnwest.com.
