Hilda Morgan Bookout, 90, of Charlotte went to be with the Lord on November 29, 2015. She was born and raised in Fairmont, NC. After graduation from Women’s College in Greensboro, she moved to Charlotte and retired after 32 years with Mecklenburg County Social Services. Hilda loved to garden and was a longtime member of St. Andrews United Methodist Church.
Hilda is predeceased by her daughter, Katrina Tougas. She is survived by her son, David (Martha) Bookout; daughter, Patti (Tiny) vanTonder; granddaughters, Leigh Ann (Tyler) Privette; Lindsay Bookout and Jennifer Tougas; great-grandson, Jackson Privette; brother, Roger Morgan; son-in-law, Bill Tougas and numerous nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends at 1:00 pm on Saturday December 5 at St. Andrews United Methodist Church 1901 Archdale Dr, Charlotte, NC 28210, immediately followed by a 2:00 pm Funeral Service with burial at Sharon Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given in Hilda’s memory to the Memorial Fund at St. Andrews UMC 1901 Archdale Dr, Charlotte, NC 28210.
