He was born on November 4th, 1951, in Saigon, Vietnam, to his late father, Man Minh Tran, and mother, Nhon Ngo. At the age of 17, Hoi embarked on a journey of extraordinary bravery when he joined the South Vietnam Army, where he served with dedication until 1975. He was a proud member of the EOD squadron, and it was during his service that he performed an act of heroism that would forever be etched in history. In 1972, Hoi defused a bomb, saving the lives of 2300 American soldiers. For this selfless act, he was awarded the United States Bronze Star, a symbol of his unwavering courage and commitment to preserving lives.
In 1978, Hoi made the difficult decision to leave his homeland, Vietnam, with his son Larry, seeking a new life and opportunities in the United States. In 1987, fate brought him to Juliette, his loving wife, and together they embarked on a journey filled with love and companionship.
Hoi leaves behind a legacy of love and family. He is survived by his devoted wife, Juliette; his four children, Larry Tran, Chrystina Parks, Patrick Geagan, and Nguyet Anh Tran, and their families.
His memory will forever live on through his eight grandchildren and six great-grandchildren, who will cherish the lessons of love and resilience that he imparted to them.
Hoi is also survived by his brothers, Minh Q. Tran and Hung Tran Sandu, and sister, Ngu Vo, who will continue to remember him with fondness in their hearts. He is preceded in death by his brother, Kiet Q. Tran
