Horace Eugene Neal

Horace Eugene Neal (Junior), devoted husband and father passed away on the 6th of July, 2025 at the age of 80, surrounded by his wife and daughters. He was born on the 27th of February, 1945 to the late Horace William Neal and Margaret Green Neal. Horace lived a life filled with love, family and adventures.

A proud veteran of the United States Navy Reserves, he had a deep appreciation for the ocean and the great outdoors. He was a very avid hunter and fisherman.

For 58 years Horace was married to his loving wife Marie. Together they built a life filled with love, laughter and adventure. Their family grew with the arrival of their daughters Sonya and Shannon, who were the center of his universe.

Since his stroke, Horace was cared for with compassion and dedication by Brittany Atkins, who he absolutely adored.

Horace is survived by his loving wife, Marie; daughters: Sonya (Ted) and Shannon (Jamie) and granddaughter, Bailey Wix, his nephew, Jason Painter (Ally) who was always there for him; a sister, Juanita Talley (Walt) and many nieces and nephews.

The Neal family will greet friends on Saturday, the 12th of July, 2025 from 3:00 PM until 4:00 PM in the Chapel of McEwen Funerals & Cremations at Forest Lawn West. A Memorial Service to celebrate his life will follow at 4:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, the family ask donations be made in his name to St. Jude's Children's Hospital.
