HOWARD L. WILLIAMS, one of the sons born to the late Jesse and Parrie B. Williams, was born May 1, 1936 in Lancaster County, SC. He was educated in the public schools of Lancaster County and graduated from Barr Street High School. He left his earthly home and entered Jehovah’s joy Sunday, January 31, 2022 with his only daughter and his oldest son by his bedside at Levine-Dickson Hospice House in Charlotte, NC after a short illness.
HOWARD married his high school sweetheart, Lottie Robinson Williams December 20, 1959. They moved to Charlotte and immediately began to start a family that was comprised of one daughter and three sons. In 1964, they started to study with Jehovah’s Witnesses and manifested their commitment by water baptism. They were married for forty years and lived with their four children in the Pine Valley community. Lottie died February 14, 2000.
HOWARD later married the former Robbie Harris; they combined their children and became a bigger family. He and Robbie were married more than forty years until his recent death. Robbie was a very devoted wife; she enjoyed a good debate with Howard and sometimes allowed him to think that he had won the debate. They were a loving couple and were sometimes called “The Honeymooners”.
HOWARD worked at Lance, Inc. for twenty five years in the baking/mixing department. After his retirement, he was unwilling to just sit each day. He worked two part-time jobs at Cardinal Health in the operations department and later, as a courier for Speedy Printing.
HOWARD enjoyed yard work in his yard and the yards of others. For doing this, he loved and appreciated by his neighbors. He was extremely passionate about keeping his vehicles clean; spending time with his family and friends, watching old westerns, reading and completing word search and crossword puzzles. Racing remote-controlled cars and spending time with his youngest son, Travis brought him great joy. He spent time visiting the sick/shut-ins in his community. He was a very neat person; he took pride in dressing well with his clothes color coordinated and accessorized. His play daughter, Denise McCree, affectionately called him “Brother Bling.”
HOWARD leaves to mourn his passing, his wife, Robbie, three sisters: Lillie W. Horton, Naomi W. Worthy and Dorothy W. Fletcher; four brothers: Jesse Williams, Jr., David Williams, James Williams and Rothell Williams; four brothers-in-law: Rozell Harris (Dollie), Keith Crosby (Wyleen), John Cauthen (Annie) and Leonard Robinson (Sandra); three sisters-in-law: Mildred R. Thomas, Shirnetha R. Belk and Sarah T. Robinson. Howard was preceded in death by his parents, one sister (Pauline W. Johnson and four brothers: Roscoe, Odell, Ora, and Lewis Williams.
