Irene A Sprengel

Irene Agnes Sprengel CHARLOTTE - Irene Agnes Sprengel, age 98, of Charlotte, N.C. died January 29, 2014. Irene, a retired hairdresser and daughter of Hungarian immigrants, was born in New York City. She and her husband were founding members of St. Ann Catholic Church in Charlotte, and after retirement were members of Incarnation Catholic Church in Sarasota, Fla. She was currently a member of the Catholic Parish of St Vincent de Paul in Charlotte and a resident of Brighton Gardens. Mrs Sprengel is survived by her daughters Gerry Tadlock of California and Peggy Jugis of Charlotte. Also six grandchildren, Bishop Peter Jugis, Chris Jugis, Paul, Stephen, Teresa Tadlock, Laura Tadlock DeBaude; and ten great-grandchildren. Mrs. Sprengel was preceded in death by her husband Chick Sprengel, and grandson Mark Jugis. A funeral Mass will be celebrated for Irene at St. Vincent de Paul Catholic Church on January 31, 2014 at 10:30 am. The celebrant of the funeral Mass will be her grandson, Bishop Peter Jugis. Burial will be out of state. McEwen Pineville Chapel is handling arrangements for the family.
