Ivar Joseph Samuelson

He was born on July 6, 1930, in New Haven, Connecticut to Ivar Sr. and Phylis. Ivar grew up with a passion for football and cars. After graduating from Ohio University with a BS in Commerce, he went on to pursue a meaningful career in Industrial Sales and Marketing where he led multiple domestic and international sales organizations and companies.

Beyond his professional life, Ivar was a person of many passions. He could often be found boating on Lake Erie, playing tennis and loving automobiles. He brought immense joy to both friends and family, and he will always be remembered for his love of the Ohio State Buckeyes, Phi Kappa Tau Fraternity and fully detailed cars.

Ivar is survived by his loving wife of more than 73 years, Beverly; his children, Gary, Brad and Brian; his grandchildren, Andrew, Josh, Matthew, Joseph, Kyle, Kate and Kelly; his great-grandchildren, Carter, Elle, Owen, Kit, Brooks, Blake, Rhett and Reese. He was preceded in death by his parents.

A Memorial Service will be held Saturday, September 26, 2026 at 10:00 am at McEwen Funeral Home - Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28210.
