Jack Eve

Born on September 23, 1934, in New Castle, Pennsylvania, Jack was the son of the late Joseph and Hermina Eve. He graduated from New Castle High School in 1952 and earned his bachelor's degree from Thiel College in Greenville, Pennsylvania, in 1956, where he was a proud member of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity.

Following college, Jack proudly served his country in the United States Army from 1956 to 1958. He was also a dedicated Masonic Shriner and a longtime member of the Eintracht Singing Society in New Castle, Pennsylvania.

Jack enjoyed a distinguished career with Ortho Diagnostics, a subsidiary of Johnson & Johnson, beginning in 1962. His work took him from Toledo, Ohio, to Baltimore, Maryland, before bringing him to Charlotte in 1972, where he continued his career until retiring in 1985. Never one to sit still for long, Jack embarked on a second career with the Harris YMCA, where he found great joy in serving others until his second retirement in 2002.

A man of deep faith, Jack was a devoted member of St. Luke's Lutheran Church in Charlotte and had previously been a member of Incarnation Lutheran Church.

Jack will be remembered for his unwavering love of family, his kind and gentle spirit, and his lifelong loyalty to his hometown sports teams, especially the Pittsburgh Steelers and Pittsburgh Pirates.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Janet Harper Eve; his sons, Bryan Eve, and Bobby Eve and his wife, Marisa; his cherished granddaughter, Sara Grace Eve; his brother-in-law, Win Harper and his wife, Elizabeth; and his niece, Traci Harper.

In addition to his parents, Jack was preceded in death by his brothers, Richard Eve and Ronald Eve; his sister, Arlene Eve; and his parents-in-law, Wayne and Eleanor Harper.

Visitation will be held at McEwen Funeral Service – Pineville Chapel located at 10500 Park Road, Charlotte on Friday, August 7, 2026 between 5:00 pm – 7:00 pm. The funeral service will be at St. Luke's Lutheran Church located at 3200 Park Road in Charlotte on Saturday, August 8, 2026 at 1:00 pm.

The family extends its heartfelt gratitude to the many friends, neighbors, and caregivers whose kindness and companionship enriched Jack's life through the years. He will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.
