He was preceded in death by his wife, Florence Louise.
He was the father of Gary, Kim & Michele; Grandfather of Madeline and Jack; Brother of Mildred, Joe, Eugene (Jeep), Bruce and Faye. He departed this earthly world on October 12, 2021.
He graduated from North Mecklenburg High School with the class of '53, and Central Piedmont Community College, where he earned his Fire Science degree while working at Charlotte Fire Department, Station 1. After retirement he used his talent on loan from God teaching fire department recruits at the Training Academy. Being a long time NASCAR fan, he later continued his retirement years working for crew chiefs, drivers, and sponsors serving the industry.
In lieu of flowers, Jack requests that you memorialize his life with a donation to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital.
The Family will receive friends Sunday, October 17, 2021 at 2:00PM at Forest Lawn West Funeral Home, 4601 Freedom Drive in Charlotte. A graveside service will follow at 3:00 PM.
