Jack Rimmer (91) died on January 30, 2021 in Matthews, NC. He is survived by his daughter Sandi Grill (George) of Monroe, NC; sons Arnold Rimmer (Maleia) of Monroe, NC and Greg Rimmer (Laura) of Ft. Mill, SC; grandchildren Justin Grill, Brittany Rimmer, Heather Lawson; seven great grandchildren; brothers Joe and Jimmy; sister Jan Whitted and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his loving wife Eunice, his parents and brothers Bill and Frank.
Jack was born on March 3, 1929 in Charlotte, NC to Grover C. and Tessie Marie Tate Rimmer, where he lived his whole life. He served in the US Navy and upon discharge in 1948, accepted a position with Piedmont Natural Gas where he worked for more than 40 years, retiring in 1990.
He was a loving husband to Eunice for 49 years until her death in 2004. The two of them raised their three children with love.
He was an avid golfer and loved to play a round or two with his sons, daughter and son-in-law. He instilled the love of the game to his sons and son-in-law. Always joking that they couldn't beat him at 'his' game, until one day Greg beat him by one stroke! His children never let him live that down!
He was a lifetime member of the Phalanx Masonic Lodge in Charlotte, NC. He was the only man in that lodge that became Master three times since the 1940's. He was a certified teacher of the Masonic rites for many other lodges in the area also.
He will be remembered as a kind, generous and loving man, husband and father. His family will truly miss his stories and the love he showed them.
Graveside service with military honors will be Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at Sharon Memorial Park, Charlotte NC at 2pm. His brother Joe will deliver the eulogy.
In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Jack's name to the Scottish Rite Children's Hospital (www.scottishriteforchildren.org).
