Jack was a good man!  He was very, very smart, but also kind and humble.  Very recently he sent a nice handwritten note of encouragement that meant a lot to me!

Jack was a wonderful man and friend with a generous heart and a true love of others. I am certain knowing how Jack lived this life he was carried into the next on the wings of angles. We miss him already and share your sorrow as we look forward to that time when we will be together again. May God bring you peace as you travel forward towards that time.

Jack was always willing to share his technical knowledge and his positive business ethics set a tone for our industry that remains until this day. We were blessed to have him in our presence.

Dearest Mrs. Walters and John,
  How very sorry I am for the loss of your loving husband and father.  His obituary was so beautiful - just like him!  I know that you both know that even though he is no longer with you now, because of Jesus, we know that you will, in fact, be reunited with him. And I hope that is a source of great comfort to you in the coming days. I hope you remember me, but if not, I went to Smith and South with John.  May God continue to bless you abundantly with his comfort and peace.
