

Jacque Jr. was born in Washington, DC and was the eldest son of Jacque Johnson, Sr. and Fannie L. Johnson of Washington, DC and leaves behind one brother, Jerome Johnson who resides in Washington, DC. He was educated in the District of Columbia public schools attending McKinley High School "On the Hill".
Jacque had many accomplishments however his greatest accomplishment was the day he and his beloved Valeria committed their lives to each other in holy matrimony. From this union came the blessing of two daughters - Viola "Sherice" Nivens and Jacquetta Denise Johnson (deceased). Jacque was devoted to his family and friends. He was quiet and confident with who he was and what he wanted, and never wavered from his conviction to provide a safe and caring home for his loving wife and children.
Jacque was baptized at Brown Memorial AME in Washington, DC and accepted Christ as his Personal Savior. Once again, he took Communion and re-dedicated his life to Christ before his departure.
He graduated from Johnson C. Smith University in Charlotte, NC and attained a degree in Accounting with a minor in Finance. Jacque was a proud member of Groove Phi Groove Social Fellowship Incorporated, and was instrumental in holding high the Tenants of Leadership, Academics and Fellowship with the JCSU Bull Chapter Fellowship. Jacque was a star player on the JCSmith tennis team and was always competitive and committed to everything with excellence. His successful banking career extended more than 30 years in Mecklenburg and Cabarrus Counties. He ended his career as Senior Vice President at Mechanics And Farmers Bank on Beatties Ford Road and was instrumental in providing financial support and loans to the local minority business community when "other" banks would not make loans available to minority projects. Jacque also helped support Johnson C. Smith University in identifying funding and infrastructure for the University's continued growth. His strong spirit and tenacity for life helped sustain him through very difficult periods in his life.
Jacque leaves behind to forever cherish his memory, his caring and loving wife, Valeria Johnson; a beloved daughter, Sherice Nivens (Charlotte, NC); his devoted brother, Jerome Johnson (Washington, DC), special cousins Willie and Evelyn Johnson, and a host of relatives and friends.
