

She was the daughter of the late Jap Early and Flossie Sugg. As a youth she grew up in High Point, North Carolina. Mrs. Lovings is preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, James W. Lovings, Sr.; her two sisters; and four brothers.
Mrs. Lovings is survived by her daughter, Phyllis L. Small (Frank) of Concord, NC; two sons, James W. Lovings, Jr. of Charlotte and Jerry M. Lovings (Anne) of Roswell, GA; three grandchildren, Jacqueline Fletcher (Chris) of Concord, NC, Martin Lovings (Erin) of Roswell, GA and Erika Rodriguez (Diego), also of Roswell. Also surviving are six great-grandchildren: Savannah Fletcher of Concord, Henry, Emmett and Reagan Lovings of Roswell, GA and Laura Anne and Kevin Rodriguez of Roswell.
Jacqueline was a longtime member of Providence United Methodist Church. She had previously been a charter member of St. Paul United Methodist Church of Charlotte, where she founded and directed a pre-school kindergarten.
Mrs. Lovings enjoyed her bridge clubs, dancing, creating crafts and floral arrangements, traveling with her husband, and going to the beach in the fall. Most of all, this kind and gentle lady was a dedicated homemaker, devoted wife and inspiring mother. Her spirit was love, her faith unwavering. Jacqueline was truly the heart of her family.
Her funeral service will be held in the Providence United Methodist Church Chapel at 2:00 pm Tuesday, October 7, 2014. Interment will be at Sharon Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Novant Health Hospice; Presbyterian Medical Center; or Providence United Methodist Church of Charlotte.
