James Franklin Curry

Mr. Curry, age 90, of Charlotte, died Thursday, May 28, 2015 at Levine & Dickson Hospice House. Born January 15, 1925 in Spartanburg, SC, he was a son of the late Thomas Mills Curry and Mae Mills Curry. Mr. Curry retired as a printer of Interstate Graphics. He was a member of Cole Memorial United Methodist Church. He was a former member of Shamrock Drive Baptist Church where he was a Deacon and member of the Men’s Group.

The family will receive friends 11:00 AM - 12:00 PM Saturday, May 30th at McEwen Funeral Service – Derita Chapel. Funeral service will immediately follow at 12:00 PM in the funeral home chapel with his nephew, Reverend David Blanton and his pastor, Brian Braunschweiger, officiating. Burial will be in Gethsemane Memorial Gardens.

Survivors include his wife of 69 years, Dorothy Grant Curry; two children, Michael Franklin Curry and Vicky Curry Dawson (Rackley); three grandchildren, Jennifer Leigh Curry, James Christopher Honeycutt and Adam Justin Dawson (Kate); three great grandchildren; and two siblings, Thomas Curry and Betty Beam. In addition to his parents, Mr. Curry was preceded in death by a grandson, Michael Scott Curry; and six siblings, Paul Curry, Mazelle Dobson, Jack Curry, Lucille Southerland, Josephine Blanton and Barbara Biddix.
