
James "Jimmy" Henry Rhodes, 79 of Charlotte died unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 29, 2014 in the Harris Hospice Unit at Novant Presbyterian Hospital Jimmy was born March 5, 1935 in Danielsville, Georgia to the late Willie Newton Rhodes and Oleta Johnson Rhodes. He served in the United States Army spending several months in Okinawa. He was employed with National Welders Supply Company for 28 years, retiring in 1996. He was married to his loving and devoted wife, Geraldine Horne Rhodes for 57 years. For a number of years they enjoyed camping in their travel trailer and boating. Later in life they enjoyed traveling on river cruises in Europe and large ship cruises. Jimmy is survived by his wife, Geraldine Horne Rhodes, sister, Pearlie Rhodes Eason and her son Joseph Timothy Eason of Indian Trail, NC, 3 brothers, Frankie Rhodes and wife, Brenda Haynes Rhodes of Waxhaw, NC, Johnny and Howard Rhodes of Indian Trail, NC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Mozelle Rhodes and brother-in-law, Ted Eason. Jimmy was a lifetime member of Cook’s Memorial Presbyterian Church. The funeral service will be at 2:00PM Sunday, August 3, 2014 at 2:00PM in the sanctuary of Cook’s Memorial Presbyterian Church, Rev. T. J.Thompson officiating.
