James Eddie Turnage Sr.

A native of Rockingham, NC, Mr. Turnage was born to the late James Oscar Turnage and Jessie Edna Tyson Turnage on April 23, 1925. He was a US Navy veteran of World War II and Korea and was a VFW member. Mr. Turnage is preceded in death by his wife, Frances B. Turnage, by sister, Ida Mae Turnage Gibson and by brother, Ted Turnage.

Mr. Turnage is survived by his children, Colleen Turnage of Raleigh, Yvonne Turnage of Wake Forest, James Eddie Turnage, Jr. of Charlotte; sister, Joyce Taylor of Rockingham, brothers, Jerry Sheppard of Rockingham, Bobby Sheppard of Raleigh; grandchildren, James Oscar Turnage, Jonathon Philip Turnage, Margaret Ann Turnage and sister-in-law, Peggy Turnage of Cheraw, SC.

A memorial service will be held 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 30 in the chapel at Wilson Funeral and Cremation Service, 5301 Albemarle Rd., Charlotte. The family will receive friends on Saturday following the service at the funeral home. A committal service will be held 11:00 a.m., Sunday, July 31 in Richmond County Memorial Park in Rockingham.
