Jane Haslinger Chiseck passed away peacefully on January 18, 2025 at Atrium Hospital after a brief illness. She was born May 19, 1935 in Cincinnati, OH. She attended University of Cincinnati and worked for the Norwood Board of Education. It was through a coworker and friend that she met William (Bill) Chiseck. They were married in 1965, and in 1975, the couple settled in the Olde Providence neighborhood in Charlotte, NC to raise their family.
Jane made many life-long friends within the neighborhood and through playing tennis at Windyrush Country Club. For years, Jane and the tennis girls of Windyrush enjoyed weekend trips to play tennis and celebrate the many stages of life together. Jane and Bill were among the founding families at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church. It was a place she dearly loved and loved her well in return. She served there faithfully in many capacities including Deacon, choir member, handbells, PrimeTimers, and community and international outreach projects. The week before she became ill, she was working on getting warm clothing to the NC mountains affected by recent floods.
Dedicated to her family, Jane cherished her family both near and far away. She looked forward to trips to Cincinnati, Michigan, and varying family reunion locations to visit and reconnect with her loved ones. Jane was an active supporter of her grandchildren, attending sporting events, choir and band concerts, musicals, graduations and never forgot to put a birthday card in the mail.
She was predeceased by her parents, William and Viola Haslinger, husband, Bill Chiseck, sister Shirley Cory and brothers, Roy and Lee Haslinger. She is survived by daughter Patty (Eddie) Ledford, son Billy (Kelly) Chiseck, grandchildren Sarah Ledford, Jake (Tori) Ledford, Isabel Chiseck, Olivia Chiseck and Avery Chiseck, great granddaughter Emery Ledford, sister-in-law Joan Haslinger, numerous nieces and nephews and her beloved canine companion, Harper.
Service to celebrate her life will be 2:00 pm Saturday February 1, at Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church with Rev. Dr. W Fred Rose officiating. Reception to follow in the Narthex.
Memorials may be made to Good Shepherd Presbyterian Church (3307 Rea Rd. Charlotte NC 28206).
