Jane Kayler Parish died on December 18, 2019 in Charlotte, NC. Jane Parish was born in Gastonia, NC on February 19, 1939. She was predeceased by her parents Nevette and Nona Kayler, brothers Nevette, Elam, Ray, Joe, Charles, Jack, Roger, Ed and infant brother, Ernest.
Jane Parish is survived by her devoted husband of 36 years, William Joseph (Joe) Parish; her children Brad Love of Conway, SC, Angela Love of Wilmington, NC, Kayler Love and husband Dale McMichael of Charlotte, NC, as well as grandsons Robert Love, Ethan Love and David Love.
Jane Parish attended Pheiffer College, then married former husband, Walter Bradford (Walt) Love. She worked for DuPont and raised their family in Wilmington, NC. They were members of Wesley Memorial United Methodist Church and all shared a love of the beach.
In 1983 Jane married Joe Parish and they moved to Matthews NC in 1985. She had a successful career as a commercial broker in Charlotte, NC. Jane and Joe celebrated their life together with extensive travel, time with dear friends and creating family traditions, which involved Christmases at Wrightsville Beach. Jane’s dedication to the holiday trips brought together the entire family, including Joe’s daughters Amanda Parish and Laurie Parish-von Bargen, and grandchildren, Reid, Etta and Olivia.
Mrs. Parish had a passion for literature, music and theatre arts and read a variety of authors. She deeply loved and admired her altruistic parents and brothers and the contributions and positive influence they had on their church and communities. She combined these loves and authored a fictional novel based on her family, as well as the memoirs of her late brother, Reverend Jack Kayler.
Mrs. Parish enthusiastically served as President of the Corps de Ballet, a fundraising group that supports Charlotte Ballet. (formerly NC Dance Theatre) She tirelessly chaired many events and galas and cultivated life-long friendships with many members of the charitable group.
Jane Parish’s graciousness, love of family, friends and shared time together, endeared her to all who knew her.
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, December 28, 2019 at 2:00pm at McEwen Pineville Chapel, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28210. The family will greet friends following the service.
