Jane Sunder Reed

Mrs. Reed, 85, of Charlotte, NC passed away on July 8, 2011 at CMC-Pineville. She was born on February 18, 1926 in St. Louis, MO, a daughter of the late Chester and Dorothy Wood Sunder.

Jane spent most of her life in St. Louis. She attended Washington University and worked for the St. Louis County Parks Department. She was a science enthusiast, loved conversation and her collection of animals. Her greatest joy in life was the pursuit of constant learning and discovery.

Although quiet in nature, she made many special friends. She loved her friends at Sharon Towers dearly. We are extremely grateful for the love and support that the staff at Sharon Towers has shown her.

She is survived by her daughter Elizabeth (Ted) McGee Ebner; grandchildren, Heather (Brad) Thornton and George (Ashley) Brian McGee; great-grandchildren, Pete, Patrick and Anna Thornton and George Ozzy McGee; her sister, Elaine Mueller and niece Jamie Finn.

A service to celebrate her life will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 12, 2011 at Harry & Bryant Company, “Chapel in the Oaks”, 500 Providence Rd., Charlotte. The family will receive friends following the service at the funeral home.
