Janice Tilley Frye

July 12, 1963 – July 17, 2021
Obituary of Janice Tilley Frye
IN THE CARE OF

McEwen Funerals & Cremations at Forest Lawn West

Janice Tilley Frye, born July 12, 1963, passed away on Saturday, July 17, 2021, after a brief illness.

Janice was born in Cabarrus County and was the daughter of Margaret Harrington Tilley and Delton Tilley, both of whom predeceased her. She is survived by her loving husband, Randy Frye; her beloved daughter, Courtney Tilley, and her three grandchildren, Isaac Eugene, Eli Eugene and Daniel Eugene. In addition, she is survived by her sisters Pat Tilley Douglas (husband Gentle) and Deborah Tilley Patterson and a brother, Jeff Tilley (wife Becky), along with numerous nieces and nephews. She also treasured her friendship with her dear friend Donna Baucom.

Janice was a graduate of A.L. Brown High School and Kings College. She formerly worked as an administrative assistant for CATS and Central Piedmont Community College. Janice loved to cook and enjoyed time spent at the beach. She was a great animal lover. Throughout their thirty years of marriage, she and her husband, Randy, loved and cared for over twenty little furry friends. She loved the simple life and enjoyed being at home.

Although Janice lived in Charlotte, she had fond memories of riding her horse in Kannapolis, where she grew up. She also remembered her childhood friends and family in Kannapolis and kept up with them through Facebook. After moving from Kannapolis to Charlotte, she had many special memories of time spent with her husband, Randy, and her daughter, Courtney, and had hundreds of pictures to remember those times. Janice loved to laugh and was quick with a smile. A simple hug brought a smile to her face that you would remember for the rest of the day. Even though she struggled with health problems, she had a strong faith in God and put her trust in Him. We are comforted that she is now in the hands of The Lord with her family that has passed on before her. She will forever be loved and missed. Please take time to hug the ones you love, spend time with them and tell them how much you love them. WE LOVE YOU JANICE!

A private memorial service will be held at A Mighty Fortress Lutheran Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Humane Society of Charlotte in memory of Janice Tilley Frye.
