Janice Vanhoy Hoffman, 89, of Charlotte, North Carolina, passed away on August 1, 2026. Born July 15, 1937, in Richfield, North Carolina, Janice carried with her a steady devotion to home and family, and a quiet strength that was felt most clearly in the care she gave to those she loved.
A graduate of Rockwell High School, Janice valued learning and the written word; she was an avid reader whose love of books reflected a thoughtful spirit and a lifelong appreciation for reflection and understanding.
Janice was a member of Back Creek Church in Charlotte, where her faith and commitment to her church family remained an important part of her life.
Janice was preceded in death by her husband, Kenneth Hoffman, and her granddaughter, Amelia Weekly. She is survived by her son, Vic Hoffman; her daughters, Cindy Stroup and Angie Weekly; and Janice also leaves 10 grandchildren and 15 great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held at Back Creek Church, 1821 Back Creek Church Rd, Charlotte, NC 28213, on August 6, 2026, from 10:00 am to 10:45 am. A graveside service will follow at Back Creek Church on August 6, 2026, at 11:00 am.
