

Janice was born August 4th 1938 in the Charlotte neighborhood of Derita, to the late Plato “Jack” Conner and Vergie Brooks Conner. In addition to her parents, Janice is preceded in death by her siblings - Charles Conner, Gerald Conner and Corene Lazenby - as well as her loving husband of 54 years, Clinton Thompson. Janice is survived by her daughter and granddaughter: Teresa Helms and Rachel Helms (Phillip Scott); her step children Bobby Thompson (Tia), and Karen Thompson. She is also survived by her sister Louise Holloway.
Janice, a graduate of North Mecklenburg High School, started work as a secretary within contract hardware sales ultimately advancing to Inside Sales Manager. Janice and Clinton married March 4th, 1967 and later moved to Denver, NC to enjoy life on the shores of Lake Norman. Janice was actively involved in supporting her local veteran community through her membership and service to the American Legion Morris Field Post 380 and women’s auxiliary organization of the 40th and 8th, La Societe de Femme Cabane 793.
Janice lived a long, full and healthy life. Throughout her years she was an exceptional wife, mother, grandmother, friend and neighbor as well as an avid connoisseur of potato chips. While she will missed by all those who were afforded the opportunity to know and love her, we will cherish the wonderful memories we’ve shared until we can be reunited again.
