Janika—I thought of you today and smiled. 

To her dad, brother and all feeling they void of your loss—know that there are many still praying for your comfort and peace as you navigate this “year of firsts” with Janika as your angel. Thank you for sharing her with us.

I’m so sorry for this loss. Janika was a talented, driven, and hilarious person that I’m so glad I got to know. I worked with Janika at Vanguard for a few years and she was one of my favorite people to work with. She didn’t take any crap from anyone which I love and she kept a smile on your face even during the toughest days. I will greatly miss Janika but she will not be forgotten!

It was truly a pleasure working with Janika at Vanguard.  I'm grateful I had a chance to know her as both a colleague and someone who shared great stories about her likes and dislikes.

Such a beautiful spirit. We were brought together a few years ago at work and have been friends ever since. I’m going to miss our conversations about traveling to all of these exotic places, seeing who would use the most PTO and you calling me to order some more smell goods. 

I am going to miss you...your laugh and smile the most. 

I pray that her family, friends and all of those she touched  find peace and comfort during this time of grief. 

Janika was such a bright spot to anyone who knew her. She brought a smile to your face everyday. I will truly miss her sweet spirit. We always had fun when we were together.

Although I only had the pleasure of speaking with you for several months before the pandemic sent us home, it was obvious to me that you are a genuine person with a very kind soul. You have a great sense of humor for  laughing at my stupid jokes.

Based on experiences I had with the passing of my father when I was 14 years old,  I have NO DOUBT that Yahweh, God or whatever you prefer to call him and his son and Jesus are real. I also have no doubt that you are with them as we speak.

You will be greatly missed.  You've been a great support with helping me talk about anything and everything going on in my life at work and at home.  I wouldn't be where I am if it wasn't for you helping me pass my Series 7 and keeping me sane while being a caregiver to my mom.  The only comfort I have in all of this is knowing that you are with your mother.  Sleep well.

Janika was a light! So beautiful, so energetic, so determined. She cared deeply about others. I pray that God grants her loved ones supernatural comfort, peace, and understanding. Rest well Janika! 

Too many inside jokes, too many memories... I will miss you Janika... You will always hold a special place in my heart.

Janika was the first friend that I met at Vanguard. We worked in the Retirement department together and have been friends ever since. She had such a beautiful spirit and I will miss her so much! We used to joke, laugh, and text everyday about random stuff. She was never afraid to speak her mind and I loved that about her. This is so tough for me but I know she is happy in heaven with her mom. Janika my friend we will meet again ❤️

I did not know Janika well, but that was often our conversation at the coffee area at church or working next to her at the CTK servant event at Kennedy. One of our last conversations was me realizing she was Matt's sister. I was always drawn to where she was because of her joyful spirit and smile and enjoyed every one of the small moments I had to speak with her. I am so sorry for your loss. 

Rest well Janika!  I will always remember your lovely spirit and our talks, especially when I finally watched Game of Thrones. Prayers for comfort and strength for the family.

I am devastated to hear about the loss of my dear friend, Janika Wilson. She was the realest + most sarcastic, hilarious person I have ever known. She was the first friend I made upon moving away from home and she left an impact on my life that will never fade. I am forever grateful for her friendship and only wish that I could spend more time with her. Wishing her family and friends peace during this season of grieving. Love you always, Janika! You are already missed so much by so many.

Janika was my ACE. She and I became members of Sigma Gamma Rho together helping to add a chapter to Xavier University’s campus. Her smile and kindness was infectious. Her ability to stand out and stand up for what she believed in was also inspiring. When she moved to NC, we didn’t keep as much in touch, but we did keep tabs on one another. I know that she is no longer in pain or suffering and I pray that the peace that surpasses our understanding is showered on her family and loved ones during this difficult time.
