Jean Baker Kidd

Jean Baker Kidd, 82, of Belmont, North Carolina passed away Sunday, November 9, 2025. She was born in Huntersville, North Carolina and spent much of her childhood growing up on a farm and had an incredible love for animals.

Jean was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. She cherished lifelong friendships dating back to her school days. She retired from Mecklenburg County ABC in 2008 and has kept friendships for decades with co-workers at various companies. Jean was a kind person, easy to talk to, and people enjoyed her company.

Jean loved beach vacations and celebrating holidays. She enjoyed nature, wildlife, birds, and beach walks. There was nothing more precious to her than time with loved ones. She lived a simple life and was thankful for all God’s gifts.

Jean was preceded in death by her husband of 39 years, John Parks Kidd, and her youngest daughter, Joy Katherine Glasscock. She is survived by her daughter, Julie Wright (husband Greg) of York, South Carolina, and granddaughter, Kristen Patterson (husband Brian) of Clover, South Carolina.

The family will receive visitors at Wilson Funeral & Cremation Service (5301 Albemarle Road Charlotte, NC 28212) on Friday, November 14 at 10am, followed by a service in the chapel at 11am. Following the service, the immediate family will attend a private ceremony at Sharon Memorial Park.
