She was in the company of her loving husband.
Born November 24th, 1947 in Whitefish Bay WI, she was a daughter of the late James F. and Theresa McNeil Popp. She was the wife of Darold Palme with whom she celebrated 51 years of marriage and she is survived by her two daughters Darlene Hughes, Debra Palme, her grandchildren Mathis, Ashlynn and Hadley.
Jean was a loveable, giving person who lived to help others. She would always take time to be with her friends and family. She listened to them and offered kind words of encouragement, advice or a shoulder to cry on. She always had a treat in her purse for her grandkids. She had an artistic, creative mind and loved making crafts and artistic décor. You could find her at local craft shows or creating in her crafting room. She loved to garden, and she was often called on for gardening advice. In her younger years, she was a competitive club bowler, she skied in the western mountains, she was an avid golfer and she liked walking and hiking on the beach and in the mountains. We are sad to lose her. She will be missed by all who knew her.
A service to celebrate Jean’s life will be held Sunday January 13th from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. at McEwen Pineville Chapel located at 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, NC 28210. We will start with a “Celebration of Life” memorial service at 2, a prayer at 2:45 followed by speakers who would like to share stories about Jean to honor her.
