

A lifelong Charlottean, Mrs. Snellings was born May 23, 1931 to the late Zenas and Lessie Burroughs Bigham. She was a graduate of Sharon High School and furthered her education for two years at Kings Business College.
Following a brief employment in sales with a children’s clothing store, Mrs. Snellings spent her career with the U.S. Post Office where she worked in the mail room and as a window clerk. She was a member of the NARFE (National Association of Retired Federal Employees), and through the years served as an officer in several positions including President and Secretary.
Mrs. Snellings loved spending time with her family and was a devoted member of Ebenezer A.R.P. where she sang in the church choir for many years. She also enjoyed sewing and reading and spending time at the beach.
Her family includes her brother, Zenas Bigham; and her niece, Deborah Threatt; as well as her great-nephew, Addison Threatt, and her great-niece, Nicole Threatt.
Her husband, Joe Snellings, preceded her in death.
Mrs. Snellings’ family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 15th at Harry & Bryant, 500 Providence Road. A service will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 16th from the graveside in Ebenezer A.R.P. Church cemetery with the Reverend Leo Markwat officiating.
