Jeanne White Sullivan
February 14, 1930 – July 8, 2018
Jeanne White Sullivan, 88, passed away on July 8, 2018, at Novant Medical Center, Matthews. She was born on February 14, 1930, in Asheville, NC, the daughter of the late James Arthur White and Marguerite B. White. She was predeceased by her beloved husband, Ronald Sullivan and loving son, Larry Sullivan.
After graduating Lee Edwards High School in Asheville, North Carolina, she earned her associate’s degree from Brevard College and her bachelor’s degree in elementary education from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. After moving to Charlotte, she joined Myers Park Presbyterian Church where she met her soon-to-be husband of 59 years, Ronald. She was a member of the John Calvin class, taught children’s Sunday school, and volunteered on many other committees.
While raising four children, she also worked as an elementary school teacher and volunteered as a Girl Scout leader in Matthews, North Carolina, and Clearwater, Florida, and volunteered at all of her children’s schools. In her retirement, Jeanne volunteered at Presbyterian Hospital in Guest Services and Admitting for many years. Jeanne enjoyed traveling the world, attending the theater, and was an avid reader.
Her life was enriched by her many great friends as evidenced by her countless years in her bridge club and with Ronnie in their gourmet club.
The joy of her life was her role as a mother of four and then as grandmother of five. Those that will miss her presence in their lives the most are her daughter Kay Sullivan Johnston, her husband Fred, and their two daughters Brittany and Hannah; her daughter Carolyn Sullivan and her son Gregory; and her son Jim Sullivan, his wife Heather, and their two daughters Mandy and Allison.

I am very sorry for your loss. May you find comfort in God's Word that promises the last enemy, death, will be brought to nothing (1 Cor. 15:26) and the hope of being reunited with those whom have fallen asleep. (John 5:28,29)
