He was born on July 10, 1965 in Kettering, Ohio. He was the eldest son of the late, Paul “PJ” Huth and Judy Huth of Nokomis, Florida. Jeff attended St. Raphaels Catholic elementary school in Bay Village, Ohio. He was very proud of the Jesuit education that he received at St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland followed by the College of the Holy Cross in Worcester, Massachusetts.
Jeff began his career at Manufacturers Hanover Bank in Manhattan and spent the next 33 years working in corporate lending with Chemical Bank, Cypress Tree Investments, Wells Fargo, and Citizen’s Bank. As Jeff moved through the banking world, colleagues became friends, friends became family, and he brought joy to every person with his sense of humor, his smiles, and his snack drawer.
Nothing brought Jeff greater joy than to spend time with his family. Jeff met his wife, Karen Glasheen Huth, the first day of their freshman year at Holy Cross. They married on September 14th, 1991. He was a wonderful father to his children, Susannah and Jonathan. He never missed a soccer game, a swim meet, a basketball game, nor any important day in their lives. His booming voice and laugh rang out over many fields and courts, whether he was coaching or simply cheering them on.
In addition to Karen, Jonathan, Susannah, and his mother, Judy and deceased father, PJ, he is survived by his brother, Phil (Shannon) of Phoenix, Arizona, his brother, Stephen (Janet), of Marietta, Georgia, his sister-in-law, Mame Dockrey (John), of Scituate, Massachusetts, brother-in-law, David Glasheen, of Hingham, Massachusetts, in laws, David and Barbara Glasheen of Hingham, Massachusetts, nieces Emily Huth, Abigail Huth, Sydney Brignoni, Ali Conroy, Anna Conroy, and nephew Jacob Huth. Jeff was predeceased by his father Paul J. Huth. Jeff will be sorely missed by his many aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends, most especially Mark and Jean Silke of Charlotte, North Carolina.
A celebration of his life and a Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday, September 17th at St. Gabriel Catholic Church, 3016 Providence Road, Charlotte, NC. The family will receive friends on Thursday, September 16th, at McEwen Funeral Home, 10500 Park Road, Charlotte, NC from 6pm to 9pm and again Friday morning at the church from 10:00 to 10:45am.
Please consider a gift to either the Paul J. and P. Jeffrey Huth Scholarship fund at St. Ignatius High School in Cleveland or to the College of the Holy Cross, in Worcester, Massachusetts, in memory of Jeff, where the intent is to create a scholarship in his name.
