Born on September 17, 1964, in Kittery, Maine, to Vernon "V.C." Clarkson and Linda "Lynn" (Orr) Clarkson, Jeff was preceded in death by his parents and by his lifelong partner, Robert “Bob” Bradley, with whom he shared nearly four decades of unwavering love.
Jeff’s life was rooted in faith, loyalty, and generosity. He was a devoted brother, a phenomenal uncle, and a proud godfather. He shaped the lives of those he loved with guidance, wit, and unconditional support. Jeff was known for his love of cooking, fine cuisine, good conversation, and his steadfast faith—along with his self-proclaimed “great” singing voice, a claim lovingly debated by family.
Jeff enjoyed holding court at the head of the table at a nice restaurant, usually The Palm in Charlotte, wearing Calvin Klein and sharing stories of his adventures as a model in Guam, his development of critical schedule management software in the airline industry and his forever quest to obtain the perfect tan. His early retirement allowed him to spend quality time with Bob in their favorite holiday place at the beach. After Bob's passing, Jeff continued his regular beach trips, leaving an empty chair next to him in the sand.
In recent years, Jeff attended Ascension Lutheran Church, carrying his belief in God throughout his life. He found a true spiritual home and community at Ascension which provided both joy and support through his final years.
He is survived by his brother, David Clarkson; David’s children, Joshua Clarkson and Jessica Battelini (née Clarkson), and Jessica’s son, Kodie Jackson; sisters, Shannon Clarkson and Stacy Melton (née Clarkson); Stacy’s children, Drew and Madison McFalls; and Madison’s sons, Jaxon and Tyler. Jeff was immensely proud of Joshua, Drew, and Kodie for following in his footsteps in the computer field and deeply admired the young men they have become. He also cherished his role as Godfather to Karik and Cecilia Engle.
A Visitation service will be held on August 18, 2025, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at Ascension Lutheran Church followed by a Celebration of Life at 11 AM with Pastor Steve officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Ascension Lutheran Church in Jeff’s memory.
