
Jeff was born on November 11, 1965, in Port Huron, Michigan to Gerald D. and Patrecia A. Henke. He started life in Marine City, Michigan for a very short time. In March, 1966, he and his mother join his father in Kingston, Jamaica, where Jerry was manager of West Indies Paper Products Company. The family remained there until March, 1972 when his father was transferred back to the United States by Weyerhaeuser Paper Company.
The family returned to Marine City, Michigan and remained there until 1973 when they were transferred to BelAir, Maryland.
While in BelAir, he spent the summer of 1978, attending Valley Forge Military Academy. He also had become very active in sports and was playing LaCross, baseball and football.
He was also very active in Cub and Boy Scouts and enjoyed camping out with his father who happened to be a leader of his Boy Scout Troop.
In 1979, the family moved to Charlotte, North Carolina where they have remained to this day. Jeff attended East Meck. High School for several years; quit school and later went to CPCC and got his GED. In 1997 he met Dianna Wryals and on April 6, 1998, they were married in Charlotte. They moved to South Carolina and were there until August, 2009 when Dianna passed away. Shortly after that, Jeff returned to reside in Charlotte where he has been ever since.
For many years, Jeff worked as a roofer and man-of-all trades. He was always willing to help anyone who needed it. In 2010, his younger brother, JJ, started a lawn business and Jeff went to work with him. They have remained in partnership until now.
Jeff is predeceased by his father Gerald Henke. He is survived by his mother, Patrecia (Pat) Henke of Charlotte, by his daughter Blaize Henke and her son Zephyrus Henke of Hildebran, NC; his sister Jeannette Henke; brother Jerald James (JJ) (Norda) Henke of Charlotte and brother Jonathan (Dora) Henke of Cleveland, OH. Nieces and nephews Shelby (Justin) Hummel of Siloam, NC; Suzanne Henke of NCState, Jorgia and Jaxten Henke of Cleveland, Christian Henke and Dijaun Williamson of Charlotte.
Jeff's parents, along with their 4 children are charter members of Messiah Lutheran Church. There will be a memorial service on Saturday, October 17 at 12:00 noon with a reception to follow in the Gathering Room.
