Jennie Parker Hucks

Ms. Jennie was born on July 14,1926 to Mame Howard and Redmond Howard in Rockingham, North Carolina. At the golden age of 97 years old, Ms. Jennie was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Knight, late husband, Roy Hucks, three sisters, Mary Howard, Kate Howard, Ann Howard, and two brothers, one cousin, Ida Mae, and her dearest son, Charles Melvin Knight (Bobbie Knight).

Ms. Jennie lived a remarkable resilient life full of laughter and love. Everyone she met adored her hugs and positive conversations including her favorite words of endearment "I love you Hun". Ms. Jennie always made sure the people around her felt appreciated and would share her resources and her wonderful sense of humor to brighten everyone's day.

Ms. Jennie enjoyed shopping and worked in retail sales and a healthcare facility in her younger years. She enjoyed caring for others. If you could walk a mile in Ms. Jennie's shoes... You would most definitely walk a long distance, as Ms. Jennie would walk daily along the hallways of her residential home at Wilora Lake

Healthcare Center to ensure she waved and greeted everyone and ask about their day.

Ms. Jennie leaves behind her Goddaughter Annetta Cox Denovarrel Cox), God granddaughter Addison Cox, God grandson Darius Boyd, dearest friend and neighbor Donna Turner and a host of friends from Wilora Lake Health Care Center. A special thanks to Tracey (Activities Director), Leon (Facility Maintenance), Edwin (Nurse), Valencia (Social Worker), Cheryl (Hairdresser), VIA Partners (Hospice Cheryl, Tanya) and all those who cared for Ms. Jennie Hucks. Her life would not have been as

fulfilling without each of you!

Ms. Jennie was laid to rest in Forest Lawn West Cemetery on July 16, 2024.
