Jerry graduated from Independence High School, Charlotte, NC, in 1973. He worked in the bindery department at various printing businesses throughout his career.
He had a passion for cheering on his Carolina Panthers, Charlotte Hornets, and Carolina Hurricanes. In his spare time, he enjoyed fishing and playing golf.
Jerry was preceded in death by his father, Donald W. Austin and a great nephew. He is survived by his mother Gayle B. Austin and brothers Ricky (Susie) and Tony. He also had three nieces and nephews and nine great nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held later.
