Mr. Biers, age 57, of Charlotte, died Monday, April 8, 2013 at Presbyterian Hospital - Main. Born June 5, 1955 in Charlotte, he was a son of the late Emmitt Biers and Carrie Seay Biers. Mr. Biers served in the US Navy during the Vietnam War. He retired from the City of Charlotte as a supervisor of the transportation parts department. Mr. Biers was owner of Northside Brew and Cue.
The family will receive friends 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM Thursday at McEwen Funeral Service - Derita Chapel. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Forest Lawn West Cemetery. Immediately following the graveside service, friends are invited to a reception at The American Legion, 107 North Main Street, Huntersville.
Survivors include a step daughter, Brandie Supple and husband, Chris; two brothers, Frank Emmitt Biers and wife, Shirley and Rodney Eugene Biers and wife, Ray Jean; a sister, Nancy Biers Caldwell; three nephews, Brian Stogner, Shane Biers and Daniel Biers; and a niece, Tammy Hershock. In addition to his parents, Mr. Biers was preceded in death by his wife, Carolyn Yandle Biers; and a brother, Bobby Lee Biers.
