Mike and I are holding you close in prayer today on this second anniversary of Jerry's untimely passing.   He was such a talented and intelligent man who loved his country and his family.   It was an honor to have him in our family.

I was S/O on the Boeing 727 in 1979 and Jerry was a F/O . Not only was he an excellent aviator ,he was very easy going and one of nicest guys I've ever met . He also had this calm personality 

Anne and Jeff, please know that we are thinking and praying for you on this anniversary of Jerry's passing.  He lived a wonderful, rich, life and leaves a legacy of strength and honor.  Love, Mike and Bev

Our family always loved and respected Jerry. He was married to my only maternal cousin, Anne. Once our son David was on a flight to Hong Kong and someone told him the pilot (Jerry) had come back to check on him while he was sleeping. David was so surprised later to know that Jerry had been the pilot on his flight. Jerry, Anne and Jeffrey lived in a lovely home in Charlotte, NC. One summer Mother and I enjoyed a trip to visit with them. We were so impressed with Jerry's massive train set and the immaculate details in the display. Obviously throughout Jerry's life he paid sustained attention to detail. He will be missed. 

I was with the 17th AHC when we formed up at Ft Riley in 1967.  Jerry and I were in the same platoon.  Over 30 years of military service there are a few names and people you remember. Jerry is one I remember. He was a likable person that I have fond memories of. RIP brother

My name is Dan Schmid I was a one of the original crew chiefs in the 17 TH Assault Helicopter Co. known as Kingsmen . I had the honor of flying with Jerry back in 67,68 . Jerry was one of those pilots you never minded flying with ,back then we were always being put in some serious situations, but Jerry was always calm cool and you knew you were in good hands and at the end of the day he would give you one of those small grins and not say much ,but one thing he always did was respect the crew chief’s and crews . The world will be a little dimmer without Jerry in it for sure but heaven is definitely going to be a lot brighter and for Jerry there are a lot of his fellow Kingsmen going to be there to welcome him .

We were in the Pilot class at Piedmont and have been freinds ever since..Rest In Peace my Friend...

I had the privilege of earning my Eagle Scout under the leadership of Scoutmaster Jerry Hall.  Troop 164 was extremely fortunate to have had such a devoted leader.  Jerry  was incredibly generous with his time, and worked hard to encourage his scouts to reach their full potential.  My Eagle Scout opened numerous doors for me in life, and I owe so much of this to Jerry’s life of leadership and volunteerism.   

Jerry, I enjoyed our time collaborating on Army Command and General Staff College and also enjoyed flying the B737 with you at Piedmont. You were a pleasure to be around. Rest in Peace brother. 


I was F/E on the 727 in 1979 based in INT  . I had the good fortune to meet and fly with Jerry. He was a F/O at the time. He had the personality, flying skills and total competence to make a new hire feel comfortable. No doubt a place in Heaven for him.  My sincere condolences to his family. 


Jerry was a Great Guy, everyone at Piedmont who came into contact with him liked him immediately.  He was a fine pilot and all the crews who flew with him knew they were in for a smooth trip. He will be missed in our "Band of Brothers". Condolences to the family.

Your Piedmont Silver Eagle Family

I flew with Jerry as a flight engineer on the 727 at Piedmont.  I was a new hire and he went out of his way to make me feel comfortable in the cockpit.  He was always very nice to me.  As an engineer I got to watch the guys at the controls and was always impressed with his skills as an FO.  As I was also an Army Aviator he is a brother two times over.  My condolences to the family.  

I worked at Ft. Huachuca for EPG.  Jerry came out every year for his annual training.   What a wonderful,  kind man.  I'm so sorry to hear of his passing.   My deepest condolences to the family. 


May He rest i the army of the Lord.
Any member of the 158th MI Company  Georgia Army National Guard is a GREAT man.  

So sorry to hear this.  My condolences to Jerry's wife and family and Shirley and Keith and family.  

I flew with Jerry when he came out to Ft Huachuca, AZ  while serving in the Electronic Proving Ground (EPG).   He use to serve his 2 week reserve duty with us.  I was able to train Jerry in the O-2A on one of those trips while he served with us.  I remember Jerry as one of those guys you just couldn't help but like.  He was a great pilot and an even better friend.  We will miss you Jerry!

You were taken way too soon, my friend. I met you through my husband, Tim,  who was one of your best friends.  You two led such parallel lives; serving in Vietnam; sharing an apartment upon discharge from active duty;  starting college together and later serving in the Army National Guard and Army Reserves.   You served as our best man when we married and my husband served as your best man when you and your wonderful wife, Anne, were wed later the same year.    I will miss you so much and our occasional telephone chats to catch up and to reminisce.   God speed, my dear friend. May you rest in eternal peace.  I will always be there for Anne and Jeff.

Jerry was a student of mine at WBHS when I taught senior English.  I remember him well as a pleasant, conscientious young gentleman.  In reading his obituary, I was not surprised to see how successful he was in his personal and professional life.
