Jo Ann Price

October 29, 1931September 30, 2020

Jo Ann Reynolds Price, age 88 of Midland, NC passed away peacefully at home on September 30, 2020. She was born October 29, 1931, the daughter of the late Oliver Plato Reynolds and Julia Ellis Walker. She was preceded in death by her husband, Clyde Zerlin Price Jr., and siblings, Peggy Ann, Vernie, Lucille, Ruth, Betty, and Lewis.

Jo Ann spent many years working at Pelton & Crane Co., Charlotte, NC, until she retired in 1994. She spent the following years focusing on the things she loved most, her relationship with the Lord, family, and her gardens. She had a passion for being outside, spending hours working on her flower gardens and sharing that joy with everyone she knew.

Jo Ann was the best wife, sister, mother, grandmother (maw-maw), and great grandmother you could imagine. She was kind, gracious, and selfless. She spent hours sitting on the floor playing board games with all of her grandkids and truly made every moment count. She was honest, witty, and always had a comeback! Her laugh, her hugs, and her joy for life will be missed so much, but we are so incredibly blessed to have had such a wonderful woman in our lives for 88 years.

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight. Do not be wise in your own eyes; fear the Lord and shun evil.” – Proverbs 3:5-7

Jo Ann is survived by her son Tim, daughter Tonia (Mike), grandchildren Brittany (Dustin), Jessica (Nathan), Raven, and great grandchildren Hayden, Leela, and Malachi, and several nieces, nephews and cousins that love her dearly.

A special thank you to our wonderful hospice team, Susanne, Alyssa, and Stacy, caregivers, Amber, Carrie, and Tammy, daughter, Tonia, and granddaughter Brittany. Also, a special thanks to niece Robin, Judy, and other family members that have worked together to provide her with as much love and comfort as possible.

You are the sweetest lady. You were always there for Raven. You let us get away with everything! Not that we really ever did much besides play in the creek & get covered in dirt. You & Clyde will always be my best friend's parents. I don't know how you did it! The garden, the church, your yard, all while also helping Raven grow up. She is one of the hardest working Moms I know, and she learned it all from you. She learned how to love from you! I am so thankful for the love and support you shared my entire life & with Raven. This does not feel real - but I will always be thankful for my time spent at Maw Maw's house eating vegetarian bacon & wendy's frostys out in the back yard.

I love you!!

I can remember when Clyde and JoAnn were dating and he brought her to my parent’s house. I was maybe 10 yrs old. I thought she was so pretty.
