

Joann Kerley Brown, 86, of Charlotte, passed away on February 11, 2021. She was born on March 15, 1934 to Lloyd and Jessie (Wright) Kerley. Joann was married to her husband, Bennie Mack Brown, for 37 years until his passing.
Joann loved going to church and was a devoted member of Harvest Lake Church of God. She also enjoyed being with family, shopping, and bowling. Joann was a longtime Kopper Kettle employee and was deeply proud of the fact that she worked until her retirement at 80 years old.
Joann was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a son, Mike Brown; grandchildren, Lyndsay and Kenny; and siblings, Bill Deese, Katherine Smith, and Jackie Kerley.
Joann leaves behind a big family, including her children, Dennis (Cynthia) Brown, Debra (Dean) Salter, Darlene Brown, Randy (Bunnie) Brown, Tammy Royer, and Patty Davis; daughter-in-law, Deborah Brown; siblings, Elizabeth Brackett, Herman Kerley, Delores Holden, and Kenneth Kerley; grandchildren, Heidi, Steve, Wendy, Susan, Stacy, Daniel, Bennie, Michelle, Holly, Casey, and Richie; 17 great-grandchildren; and numerous loving nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at 2 p.m. at Forest Lawn West Funeral and Cremation Service, 4601 Freedom Drive, Charlotte, NC 28208. The visitation will be held prior to the service on Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at 1:00 p.m. Burial will be at Forest Lawn West Cemetery following the service.
