Joanne R Gordon

She was born on January 7, 1939 to Marjorie Price Rowell and John Samuel Rowell of Indian Trail, NC.

Joanne married Gaile Edgar Gordon on June 30, 1956. Her husband Gaile and sons Timothy Stevens (Michele) and Jeffrey Gaile were her focus and joy as well as her grandchildren Michael Gaile, Grant Stephens, and Taylor Anne Gordon.

“ Jo “ worked at Kendall in the 1960s and later at PCA Photo Corporation of America until her retirement in 1997.

Joanne lived for faith and family. She attended Matthew’s United Church until 1979 where she transitioned to Sharon SDA Church, serving as a deaconess for many years. She was a faithful servant reading the bible daily. Joanne loved to laugh and talk to anyone who would listen. She loved old movies, Elvis and late night TV.

She was the last surviving child of John and Marjorie. Her siblings: Dallas, Ava, SJ, Maxine, Evelyn, Rance, Gene and Jerry all have passed before her. As a family they all shared good times and a great love for one another. Their family discussions, the unaccustomed might call arguments, were legendary and always ended with well wishes and “see you next week”.

Joanne loved life, good food and “having company”. She is being laid to rest at Sharon Memorial Gardens beside her beloved husband of 64 years, Gaile on March 19, 2026.
