Born February 28, 1962 to the late Billie Burke and June (Hunnicutt) Helms, Dale grew up in Charlotte. He graduated from Harding High School in 1980.
He is survived by his son, Daniel Helms and his daughter, Lauren Helms. He also has five grandchildren.
He was a member of the IBEW (International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers) LU 379 for approximately 26 years. He was also a member of the UBMC (Union Brotherhood Motorcycle Club). Dale also worked at Gerneral Tire for approximately 23 years.
A service to celebrate Mr. Helms’ life will be held Friday, January 22, 2020 at 2 p.m. in the Chapel of Forest Lawn West Funeral & Cremation Service, with Rev. Gene Boatwright officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn West Cemetery. Dale’s friends may meet at the funeral home one hour prior to the service.
