

John Andrew Czipo, 55, died Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Carolinas Medical Center due to complications from a stroke. Born in Wharton, NJ on October 17, 1956, he was a son of Marion J. Czipo and the late John Stephen Czipo. Mr. Czipo graduated from Morris Hills Regional High School, Rockaway, NJ and from Villanova University, Villanova, PA where he received degrees in Finance-Accounting and Management. Mr. Czipo started his business career with Whitman Chocolate Company in Philadelphia, PA and later with Playtex, Inc. in Delaware. He was employed as an accountant with CEM Corporation of Indian Trail for 12 years and was a member of St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church since 1998.
Mr. Czipo was proficient in soccer, playing in grammar, high school and college. While in college, he played against a team from Mexico and traveled, toured and played in Germany.
He was certified USSF referee and manager of FCCA U17 Elite Soccer Team and a board member of FCCA. Mr. Czipo was also a member of the Villanova Alumni Club.
A Mass of the Resurrection will be celebrated at 11:00AM, Saturday, April 14th at St. Thomas Aquinas Catholic Church, 1400 Suther Road, Charlotte, NC with Father Remo Di Salvatore, OFM Cap, celebrant. The family will receive friends from 2:00PM to 4:00PM and 6:00PM to 8:00PM, Friday April 13th at the funeral home.
In addition to his mother, Mr. Czipo is survived by his wife of 29 years, Michele Mignone Czipo; a son, Justin A. Czipo, of the home and a daughter, Allison R. Czipo, of Charlotte.
