John J.W. William Graham Jr.

John William Graham, Jr, "J.W.," age 83, died Thursday, May 23, 2013, at home in York, SC, from complications of Dementia. He was born July 22, 1929, in Charlotte, NC, son of John William Graham, Sr. and Jessie Bell Williamson Graham. The family will receive friends from 10 to 11am on Tuesday May 28, 2013, at McEwen Funeral Service at Sharon Memorial Park, 5716 Monroe Rd., Charlotte, NC 28212. Graveside services will follow at 11am at Sharon Memorial Park. "J.W." graduated from Central High School and attended Kings Business College before entering the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. He was a Radar specialist, stationed in Alaska. He was of the Baptist faith, a member of Southside Baptist Church since childhood. Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Joyce L. Graham; sons, Gerry Keith Graham (wife Susan) of Charlotte, John William Graham III of Charlotte, and Phillip Eugene Graham of York Co., SC; grandsons, Michael Dean Graham (wife Brandy) and Phillip Eugene Graham, Jr., both of York Co., SC; great-grandchildren, Brianna Nichole Graham and Makaylah Destiny Graham of York Co., SC, Jenna Leigh Graham and Jason Dakota Graham of Latta, SC; sisters, Betty G. Gaffney and Louise G. Douglas (Donald) of Charlotte. He was a retired upholsterer with Queen City Mattress & Upholstery Company. After retirement he went into sales with Pete's Bait & Tackle shop, then driving cars for a rental car company.
