OBITUARY
John William Jordan
June 15, 1923 – November 28, 2012
Mr. John William Jordan “Uncle Bub” Mr. Jordan, age 89, of Charlotte passed away Wednesday, November 28, 2012 at Courtland Terrace. He was born June 15, 1923 in Concord, North Carolina the son of the late Walter Harold Jordan and Myrtle Howard Jordan. He is preceded in death by his brother, Pete Jordan and two special aunts, Helen and Lucy Howard. Mr. Jordan proudly served in the US Navy during WWII and was stationed in the South Pacific Theater. He was known for his talent and love of wood working and was able to make exceptional clocks, furniture and cabinets often gifted to those he loved. John enjoyed travel, working in his yard and after retiring from a forty four year career with Southern Railway, loved trains. His joy and devotion in life was his family, especially his grandchildren and great grandchild. Surviving are his loving wife of 64 years, Mary C. Jordan; son, Ken Jordan and wife Elizabeth; daughter, Teresa Morgan and husband Doug; three granddaughters, Heather Jordan, Kristen Morgan and Emily Jordan – Boyd (Richard Boyd); great grandchild, Ayden Boyd; and numerous nieces and nephews. A funeral service will be held 2:00 PM Saturday, December 1, 2012 at Kilgo United Methodist Church, 2101 Belvedere Avenue, Charlotte, NC 28205. Interment will follow in Sharon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service at the church. The family would like to thank Gaston Hospice and Courtland Terrace for their special care of Mr. Jordan. My granddaddy was one of the most honorable, strong, and loving people I knew.. I will miss him so much and will always love him with all of my heart. I am so proud to say he was my grandfather, his hair was full of silver and he had a heart of gold <3

Mary,
I am deeply sadden when Joyce called to give me the news. I missed JOHN very much. Every fall I think about John when its time to aerate the yard. (I miss those years when I was living in the neighborhood.). My thoughts are with you and I'm sure John is right next to our Almighty Father looking down on us.
