

John William (Bill) Mauch, Sr., age 84,. of Charlotte died October 6, 2010 at CMC Hospital in Pineville. A visitation will be from 2:00-5:00PM Sunday, October 10, 2010 at Forest Lawn West Funeral Home. A service to celebrate his life will be at 11:00AM Monday at Trinity Church of The Nazarene, 6031 Tuckaseegee Road in Charlotte, Pastors Mike Barefield and Bill W. Mauch, Jr. officiating. Interment will follow in Forest Lawn West Cemetery with Military Rites.
Mr. Mauch was born November 28, 1925 in Wichita, Kansas son of the late Theodore Roosevelt and Eva Wilner Mauch. He was a member of the Trinity Church of The Nazarene, attended Brookville High School in Kansas and graduated from the Burton Institute in Charlotte, served in the US Army during WWII in the 82nd Airborne, Company D and served in the European Theatre. He was a member of American Legion Post #221, retired after 32 years from Pelton & Crane as a foreman and later owned and operated Riverside Landscaping Service.
Surviving are his wife of 63 years, Frances Kinney Mauch, daughters, Karen M. Sain (Lewis) of Lake Wylie, SC and Mary Jo Storey (Johnny) of Gastonia, NC, sons, Reverend John (Bill Mauch, Jr. (Margo) and Tom Mauch (Louanne) all of Charlottte, l5 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren, sister, Neola Swanson of Oklahoma City, Okla., and a brother, Dan Mauch (Dorothy) of Hendersonville, NC. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Theodore (Ted) Mauch of Charlotte, sister, Leona Catherine Lovett and a brother, Don Mauch.
Grandsons will serve as Pallbearers.
