Johnnie Will McCants was born in Troy, Alabama on November 15, 1942 to the late Eddie B. Toney and Eddie Mae Jackson Toney. She went home to be with the Lord Sunday, June 29, 2014. She was employed as a sales clerk for Rite Aid for more than 22 years, until her health failed. She was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother, and friend to many. Her easy going ways and uplifting spirits always brightened everyone’s day. She was the forever optimist.
She leaves to cherish her husband, Paul James McCants Jr., whom she married Sept. 27, 1963.
Also surviving are two children, daughter, Angela McCants Strother and her husband, Darryl of Rocky Mount, NC, one son, Paul J. McCants III of Summerville, SC. One surviving sister, Nettie Flowers and her husband, Hubert of Miami, FL and four grandchildren, David Strother, William Strother, Britney McCants and Paul J. McCants IV and also a host of cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.
Memorial services are planned for 1:00 pm Saturday, July 5, 2014 at McEwen Derita Chapel with Elder Teicher Patterson officiating.
