Johnny Hoover

Johnny Max Hoover age 87, of Charlotte, North Carolina passed away on Tuesday, October 25, 2022. Johnny was affectionately referred to as John by his family and friends. John was born on December 17, 1934 to the late Charles and Wilma Hoover. John was married to his loving wife Jayne for 55 years, during that time they spent 48 years living in Charlotte.

John was a proud veteran, he served this country in the Air Force for 4 years. In his later years he became an electrical engineer and even earned the title of a Master Electrician.

Those who knew John could tell you that he was just an all-around great guy. He was gentle, patient, a loving father, peacemaker and devout Christian. When John wasn’t spending time with his family, you could find him gardening or spending his time at his church. He and Jayne loved traveling the country in their RV or even traveling the world together.

John was preceded in death by his loving parents, Charles and Wilma; one brother, James Hoover; and one sister, Joyce Bailey.

Leaving to cherish his memory is his loving wife, Jayne Hoover; 3 children, David Hoover (Kim), Nancy Hoover, Laura Hoover (Tonya); 7 grandchildren, Cortney, Cameron, Jonathon, Ford, Matthew, Ethan, Jaxson; 2 great grandchildren, Emma and Johnny; sister, Pauline Wilson; brother, Paul Wayne; and a host of other family members and friends.

A visitation and lunch reception will be held Saturday, October 29, 2022 from 12:00 PM to 2:00 PM at Calvary Baptist Church of Charlotte, 2727 Mt. Holly - Huntersville Road, Charlotte, NC 28214. A funeral service will occur Saturday, October 29, 2022 at 2:00 PM, 2727 Mt. Holly-Huntersville Road, Charlotte, NC 28214. A private family committal service will occur Saturday, October 29, 2022 at Gethsemane Memorial Gardens, 1504 W Sugar Creek Road, Charlotte, NC 28262.
