Dear Renee and family,
I am so sorry for your loss. My dad just shared the news with me. I recall fond memories of you both visiting NYC when I was young. Joel always had a smile on his face, and he Always went for a run when visiting!! As a child, I admired his love for life.  My dad, of course has memories going way back to Brooklyn NY, they were best friends always. 
May his memory be a blessing.

I served in the Navy Reserves with Dr Steiner in uptown Charlotte at the old Navy and Marine Corps Reserve Center on 6th Street from 1980 to 1984.   I was a Navy Corpsman.   My memories are all very positive.  He was a super friendly, cordial and genuinely nice person.

Volunteering at the dental clinic with Dr. Steiner. I had the privilege of being his dental assistant for several years and enjoyed working alongside him. He taught me so much during that time. Thankful to have known such a good man. My prayers go out to his family.
