The family of Joseph Vasko wishes to announce his passing on February 3rd, 2018 following a brief illness. Joe was born to Elmer and LaVern Vasko November 10, 1940 in Toledo Ohio. He attended school at Hillsdale College.
Joe was enlisted in the Army from 1966-1970 and served in Vietnam. He also served as MP in Germany and earned two Bronze Stars, one Silver Star and four medals of commendation.
After serving, Joe worked for E.I. DuPont for ten years and became certified in Heating and Air Conditioning, while working in the multi-family housing industry.
His true passions were golfing, tennis, photography, and enjoying the outdoors. But his favorite pastime was spent with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife of thirty-three years, Nancy Vasko, his daughter and son-in-law Jennifer and Sean Kohler (Luke, Abigail and Grace) of Groveland, FL, daughter Kelly Tolar (Layla) of Charlotte, NC, and son Lloyd Isom (Joshua) of Walterboro, SC. Sister Virginia McElhenney (Bill, Joanne, Janine and Julie) of Toledo, OH.
Joe never met a stranger and was able to find joy in every situation. He had an infectious laugh and his favorite saying was "keep it simple", so we will; and announce a celebration of his life to be tentatively planned for early spring.
